アーティスト／プログラマ の古舘健とHATRAが共同で構想したエクスペリメンタル・ライン『HATRA Phenotype』。従来制限されていたジャカード織機の可能性をアルゴリズムにより解放し、より自由で複雑な、自然を織り込んだような組織設計を確立しました。

長く受け継がれた日本の製織・整理加工技術と、コンピューテーショナルデザインの掛け合わせにより、「柄」ではなく、糸の交わり、組織そのものを操作する、現象的な織物を探求するプロジェクトです。

HATRA Phenotype is an experimental line conceived together with artist and programmer Ken Furudate. Algorithms unlock possibilities of the Jacquard loom that had until now been constrained, establishing weave structures that are freer, more complex, and that feel as though nature itself had been woven in.

Crossing Japan's long-inherited weaving and finishing techniques with computational design, the project manipulates not the "pattern" but the crossing of the threads, the structure itself, in search of a phenomenal textile.

VJQN is a graphic tapestry line that gives mass to digital images, woven on the Jacquard loom, often called the origin of the computer. A snood and a bag, upcycled from the line's prototype samples, are available only at this store.

A graphic rendering a spectrum that transmits and refracts light like glass or the surface of water. From this special fabric come a snood and a bag, each finished as a singular, one-of-a-kind piece.
